It was one among the nights spent without sleeping. There have been many reasons for staying awake but this one is special – that night on the road to the capital city – Chennai – I turned 19.

The morning sun took away the old expectations and brought new hope.

Honestly, this was the first time I’ve received a myriad of birthday wishes. I’m so thankful to everyone who filled my day with their amazing wishes and made beautiful memories.

When it comes to celebrating a birthday, I’m not a big fan of cutting cakes and eating a lot of chocolates. But I always had my kind of celebrating. Like, going to new places and exploring new things.
This birthday I’d planned to dip my brushes in Acrylic and the former – going to new places – has already began π Once I reached Chennai, I went to my uncle’s house and had my breakfast. And then it was time to burn some calories! In the morning, I went to Hindustan Trading Company, the most reputed and reliable art supply store in Chennai. It’s quite small in size but has got everything you need – Literally nothing’s missing π Had a great time there!

One downside of HTC though is there is no offer or discount whatsoever. Everything is sold in it’s MRP. So, I bought a few things only – Liquitex Basics Acrylic Color Set, Brustro Acrylic brushes, Camel’s Retarder Medium and Acrylic Pads. Soon I’ll test them and give you the insights. So, don’t forget to follow π

Did I mention that I ordered a custom frame on Sunshine Enterprise, opposite to HTC? They have a decent collection of frames, starting from simple plastic frames to decorated wooden frames. You can also make custom orders and get it ready within 24 hours(it depends on the type frame though) or sooner if you go directly to their workshop on Nungambakkam. The shop keeper was nice to explain things. Probably, that’s one of the best places to have your paintings framed.
After making the order at Nungambakkam, had lunch at a nearby restaurant. And then it was again time to burn some calories π

My next stop was Express Avenue(above). It’s a huge mall with lots of stuff going on. One thing that caught my eyes at first is this new Volvo V40(below)

The second floor(I guess) had a huge surprise. One of its sections is full of books, art supplies and toys. You must definitely check it out!

After a couple of hours on Express Avenue, went back to get the finished frame. It only took around 3 hours to make the entire frame. It was made quite well and I’m completely satisfied with the finish.
That winded up the day and at last, I came back to my relative’s house, had dinner and the next morning(July 6th) I was back on the road, heading to my home.
P.S Today is Sunday, July 7th, 2019. I’m writing this blog sitting in my studio and since I don’t have time to write about all the events, I have mentioned only a few. One thing I really want to say is my brother accompanied me once I reached Chennai. And gave a great company throughout the day. Thank you so much, brother! And I also want to thank my aunt and uncle who allowed me to stay in their house. It’s so kind of them! Now all have been said, I can’t wait to squeeze out the acrylic paint and start painting π
Meet you soon on my next blog! And don’t forget to follow cause soon I’ll be posting the reviews of all my purchases.
Until then keep your brushes wet and keep painting π
